"FINANCIAL SYSTEMS, EFFICIENCY AND STIMULATION OF SUSTAINABLE GROWTH"

On February 22 2008 the collaborative research project "FINANCIAL SYSTEMS, EFFICIENCY AND STIMULATION OF SUSTAINABLE GROWTH" (FINESS) was launched with a kick-off meeting at DIW Berlin. The project is funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission. The main purpose of FINESS is to get a clear understanding of the implications of ongoing financial market integration in Europe on economic growth, employment and competitiveness, to identify likely future paths of the development and to draw policy relevant conclusions.

The project team comprises 25 researchers from eight European partner institutions:

  • German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), Germany
  • Centre d’Etudes Prospectives et d’Informations Internationales (CEPII), France
  • University of Cambridge, UK
  • Ifo Institute Munich, Germany
  • Ghent University, Belgium
  • University of Tuebingen, Germany
  • ICEG European Center, Hungary
  • Institute for Market Economics, Bulgaria
  • Prof. Dr. Christian Dreger is the Scientific Leader of the project, and Dr. Tatjana Ribakoff its Managing Coordinator.
